i·ro·ny
noun \ˈī-rə-nē also ˈī(-ə)r-nē\
plural -nies.
: incongruity between the actual result of a sequence of events and the normal or expected result

Example:

Mothers everywhere embrace the bulge-hiding magic of the color black and it's ability to make the wearer look effortlessly chic instead of frumpy.

Black is the color that a baby's spit-up shows most prominently, instantaneously making one look like a frump.

  1. Amen! Seriously the spit up, always the worst on days you get dressed nice which ironically makes more laundry then sitting around in sweats.

  2. I guess I was/am not bothered that much by spit-up. I suppose I just figured that's what babies did (especially mine) and I was okay with that. I don't really notice spit-up on other mommy's clothes, either. Hmm, I guess that is one personal flaw I'm willing to overlook. There aren't too many of those, so I think I'll keep on not being too bothered. ;)

  3. Yep, that would be irony. Sometimes, it just feels like we can't win.
