that is my biggest frustration!!! the worst is when you husband is done eating , you haven started yet and you still have to be the one dealing with the emergency of the meal. I totally can't wait for the day when I get to eat a hot meal again!!
I so know what you mean, Britt. Spence is a great dad and husband, but he has a one-track mind when it comes to dinnertime. Inevitably, I'm the one hopping up and down taking care of stuff. I remember my mom doing the same thing and I could never understand why...now I do :P
I soooooooo agree! If my food is hot, it's because I'm wolfing it down fast enought that it's hot but not tasting it. It usually burns me at that point. :)
I've made a rule that my hubby has to take care of meal-time emergencies since he pretty much inhales his food and is done before I even get food on my plate. When I catch myself doing it instead I say "hey, I'm not doing this, you do it!" and sit back down.
Also, after finally watching The Christmas Story for the first time two Christmases ago I was able to appreciate the dinner scene from the Mom's perspective, since then I have that scene in my head at every meal.
