Where's Eye of The Tiger when I need it?

Recently I've taken up running. Shocking, I know. I enjoy my runs for the most part: they're a much-needed time-out before the littles wake up, there's the mild feeling of superiority one gets when healthy habits are being established, and, as an added bonus, I get to have the occasional guy check me out in my workout duds.

There is one thing that my morning runs are missing, however...

Music.

Those rare occasions in my life when I worked out regularly always had some kind music to go along with it, most likely because I'm a dance/aerobics girl. So, I miss it. To make a long ramble longer, what I'm really doing is asking for suggestions. What do you work out to? What gets your blood pumping and your feet moving? I have a few I like, but they're more circa 2002 (which would be the approximate time of my last I work out :P) and getting a little stale. So, how 'bout you?

  1. La Roux's Bullet Proof is one of my new favs, but the rest of my stuff is old, too!

  2. Honestly - I don't like working out to music. I know it sounds weird, but, especially when I'm outside, I like to enjoy the sounds around me. I like to listen to my own heartbeat and breathing. Oh, and when I'm walking outside, I get a little paranoid and like to be aware of my surroundings.

If I were to listen to music I would probably listen to Katy perry, she's just so fun and upbeat. Probably action-movie soundtracks that have hard-rock music. Back in my swimming days we listened to 94.7 (remember that radio station?) a lot. Anyway, good luck with that.

  3. James is the music person in our family. I'll ask him for some suggestions. He's got "Eye of the tiger" on his i-tunes if you want it. :)

  5. I actually have a sound track called "run run run" that helps motivate me... it has a lot of older stuff, avril lavign, pink, ashlee simpson, even some of taylor swifts stuff is fast enough to keep a good pace, then i do have eye of the tiger, some nickleback, its my life by bon jovi, I just mix stuff that has a good beat, and if you enjoy singing it, your probly will enjoy running to it to!

  6. Ooo, I'll have to come up with a list for you. All the stuff that I have on my ipod is getting a bit stale for me. What I do have on (you probably already know as we've listened to it)... I like Pink, Put a Ring on It, American Rejects... A song that I totally want on my playlist is Your Love is My Drug. I luu-uuv that song. Hmmm, I need to jot down the names of songs when I hear 'em come on. Oh! A song that I love to cool down to is the new John Mayer/Taylor Swift song. Ooo, I so love that song!!
