What's a girl to do?

I have zits. I'm also getting wrinkles. The fact that the two of those are happening simultaneously on my face is frankly, friggin' ridiculous and absolutely no fair. I blame the spots on my nursing mommy, post-pregnancy insane hormones (I'm allowed to be post-pregnancy for at least a year, right? right???). It seems I have the raging, zit-causing hormones of a teenager, without any of the fun ones ( ;) ;) ). The wrinkles are, of course, caused from having three children, 3 and under.

So...what's a girl to do?

I've been using my old faithful face wash and lotion, the ones I've used off-and-on since the ripe old age of 15, but they're just not cutting it anymore. I'm just kind of floundering right now. I know I need to shake things up and try something new...but as I'm extreeeemely cheap, I don't like to try new things without at least a recommendation first (what, y'all don't get a second opinion on everything from toilet paper to hairspray before you switch brands?). So if you use something you love that helps with either or both of my issues, I would just love to hear about it (or even if you don't and just want to commiserate, that's great too, you know, whatever).

  1. I use Mary Kay. I know it's a little more expensive, but you can get it cheaper on ebay and usually it's the newest stuff they've come out with. I love their products.

    Good Luck!

  3. This doesn't have anything to do with that new make-up that matches your skin color does it????
I'm just sayin'....could be the cause of the breakouts!?

  4. Thanks for the suggestion, but no, it's not the makeup. I actually started using the makeup because of the zits :P

  5. Hmmmm. I remember when Ella was about Scarlett's age I had horrible zits. I mean, serious ones...worse then I had ever had. It was awful. They eventually just went away on their own after my hormones regulated themselves. I believe they will go away in a little bit, as well. BUT, for the time being I might try and shake things up. I use Oil of Olay lotion for sensitive skin and it really moisturizes w/o causing ANY skin troubles. Love that. For the zits, are you using your spot treatment?? The one where you put it right on the zit?? That might help. I'll look around at products. I know that I've heard of products that target your exact problem. I bet you could search the internet... Good luck!! Love you!!

  6. I'm also a Mary Kay girl - Velocity facial cleanser and moisturizer. It's the ONLY stuff I've found that works with my skin. I have no clue what I will do if one of these days it doesn't work anymore. Oh and Clearasil (no-name brand) acne cream for spot treatments. Oh and it might be a tad bit more expensive but I've also found it lasts a little longer. And it's just one of those things I have to splurge on - stupid sensitive, bad-complexion skin.

  8. Isn't Velocity what you've been using for forever??

  9. I'm impressed you remember, Steph. Actually, yep, Velocity is what I've used for forever. I believe Aubrey and I actually started using it at the same time after one of her MK Parties. Anyway, it's always worked fine for me...but it just doesn't seem to be helping much anymore. *shrug*

  10. ok I regularly use Aveeno cause I'm cheap but if you're willing to spend some money for amazing stuff I would recommend philosophy. Their make up optional skin care line is amazing!!! the best thing they have though is the microdelivery in home peel. it last for a long time and makes your skin look smooth and beautiful. one day i will splurge again...

  11. Whitney, Velocity is for oily skin, your skin might not be oily anymore because you are getting older. Try switching to their 3-in-1 cleanser. I've been using it forever and I love it. I'm 28 and still don't have any wrinkles.
