I'm planning on possibly making a nice (for 2, not 5) dinner or something this year. Probably no date for us, but that's ok.whitneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15075007060114862854noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5917958974113278408.post-7983329217090941582011-02-08T13:43:53.925-06:002011-02-08T13:43:53.925-06:00I'll be honest, in my marriage, my husband is ...I'll be honest, in my marriage, my husband is the more romantic one. He is so sweet and loves to treat me right. I don't think we're doing anything much this year, though. Kit and I love "date night in". We actually try to do that fairly frequently. We haven't been out on a date for over a year, but staying in and just eating dinner together is fun. Maybe I'll be the sweetie this year...

One thing Kit has done a few times for me is make up a song list (I actually did this first, but he has definitely put mine to shame!). He has made up a cd/song list of songs that remind him of different times in our lives (dating, engaged, newlyweds, now) and a list of songs of a more sexy nature...you know ;). I have given him a cd of songs that have always reminded me of him and his traits and songs that just make me think of him and our life. He has written me letters. Oh, I did do a couple of cute things- Once I bought him a big desk calendar and wrote him notes-things I thought about him and memories I have of him every other day. I had to be creative and quite a few were silly, but it made me smile. I also put together a set of note cards of my favorite memories of us together. I don't know if he appreciates the "romantic" aspect of VD like I do, but he is always good to do it for me.Alabama Appleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03238707597299794714noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5917958974113278408.post-75910450037726879842011-02-04T15:12:35.448-06:002011-02-04T15:12:35.448-06:00My hubby and I have NEVER done anything for any sp...My hubby and I have NEVER done anything for any special days since after our honeymoon. There has always been some reason why. In face, I've only recieved flowers 2 times in our marriage, neither at V-day. Now, this doesn't make my husband awful or unloving, it's just that he, along with all the other menfolk that share his genetics, have not a single romantic bone or gene in their bodies. They are indeed clueless. I think my cute hubby used up every ounce of romance he could muster before we got married. :) It makes me laugh to think about though.

So this year I decided I'm taking things into my own hands. Since we may not be together on our 5th anniversary this year and I'll be 6 months pregnant, I decided this Valentine's Day would be our big event.

With that said, I bought a new dress, a new "nighty" and set up a friend to sit the kids overnight. I got us a nice hotel and we're gonna go to dinner and spend our first night just the two of us since we've had kids. I've even got some sparkeling cider to top it off. :) I'm just hoping he'll enjoy the evening. Boy am I excited!

I really like your suggestion to write letters each year. Who knows, maybe I'll impliment that somehow, maybe for our anniversary instead. :)

Thanks!Caldwell Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08317191311739200724noreply@blogger.com
